What happens when you go to a visit a museum and yell at a piece on display? You end up entering A&S champs five years after you swore off ever doing it again.
I truly love the National Museum of Asian Art after being introduced to it by Margreta and I make a point to hit the Freer Gallery (part of that museum)every time I'm in D.C. visiting. The story goes we were down there in August 2024 and I was looking at a wall of manuscripts from the section on Islamic art and I GOT MAD. One of the placards said calligraphy on a particular piece was done via decoupage; as in all the letters were CUT OUT of paper and then GLUE ON a different bit of paper.
WHY?!?!
HOW!?!?!?
I needed to know more. Thus became the first planning stages of my A&S project. I had an idea, some resources, and a deadline. February 2025 came too fast and then suddenly it was March 1, 2025 and I was in Settmour Swamp (New Jersey) displaying my art.
